Longmont Neighborhoods

As a medium-sized city, Longmont is home to about 22 neighborhoods. The population is made up of a mix of white and blue-collar jobs, with many people living and working in the city and a high rate of residents looking to rent, rather than buy.

Of the neighborhoods in Longmont, several stand out as popular areas to live and rent.

  • Longmont City Center – Many studio and small property rentals, larger single-family homes, and apartment complexes. A mix of historical and more modern accommodations.
  • Mountain View/Hover Road – A centrally located neighborhood, this area offers typically larger properties in more newly built residences. Many amenities, good road access, and near the golf course.
  • Airport Road/N 85th Street – A popular and more exclusive area, this part of Longmont offers many medium-sized rentals and smaller homes and apartment complexes. The majority of homes were built in the last 20 years, and many residents are in the higher than average income bracket.
  • Collyer Street/Mountain View Avenue – Rental prices tend to be more affordable in this urban neighborhood and the selection of rental properties ranges from homes to apartments. Housing supply can be tight, and the population is diverse.

Longmont Rental Types

Uncertain about the many rental properties types available in Longmont? We’ve got your answers!

The rental market in Longmont is competitive, as it is throughout the Denver and Boulder metro areas. Vacancy rates can be low, which makes it important to understand your options and narrow down your rental preferences. However, Longmont is a great place to rent with rates that tend to be lower than other Boulder County properties – but the same great views, access, and outdoor activities.

Longmont Condos for Rent

Condos tend to offer more high-end upgrades, appliances, and new flooring than basic apartment rentals. Several condo units also offer covered parking, which is convenient in Colorado’s snowy winter months.

Condo complexes are managed by a homeowner association (HOA) that covers building repairs, snow removal, and landscaping. Condos available often have laundry facilities within the unit instead of on-site shared laundry areas. In Longmont, the condo rental market can be highly competitive.

Longmont Townhomes for Rent

A townhome is a unit within a complex with other townhouses that share a similar architecture and style. Whereas an owner of a condo owns the interior of their condo, a townhome’s owner owns the unit’s interior, exterior, roof, and any lawn or driveway. Townhomes tend to be two or more stories, offering more space than a condo. HOA fees can be lower as there is less shared structural maintenance among owners.

Townhomes offer more privacy and are generally quieter than a condo as neighbors are on either side, not on both sides and above or below you and your family. There are more townhome rental options in Longmont to give you a choice of where to live within the city.

Longmont Houses for Rent

A single-family home is a great rental option in Longmont. Where townhomes and condos share at least one common wall (and can be walls, ceiling, and floor) with other renters, a single-family home is detached. Houses offer outdoor space, a garden or yard, and usually a garage. Some properties are managed by an HOA while others are not.

House rentals tend to offer larger rental accommodation, which provides more space and lot size for families. With more privacy, homes can provide a more quiet and relaxing environment. In Longmont, there is a good selection of houses for rent with many options on location and nearby amenities. Prices tend to be higher but are, generally, well worth it!
